Why on earth would you want to start an online business? I mean they are risky, hard work, involves knowing arcane skills such as HTML, PHP and MySQL, and learning new skills like marketing, copywriting and selling.
Wouldn’t it be far easier for you to stay in your nine to five job? Spend the rest of your life working for someone else with minimal return? Living under the constant worry of being outsourced, downsized or relocated? Knowing that someone else has control over your destiny and that your income is capped by what someone else thinks you are worth and will pay you for your skills?
Sure for a lot of people this all they want, a simple life where they don’t have to take any responsibility for themselves and don’t need to concern themselves with trivialities like being successful, having everything they dream of and living a happy and fulfilled life.
As you’re reading this I am pretty sure you don’t fall into this category. I have a feeling you are the sort of person who has a dream and who wants that little bit extra from life.
People start an Internet Business for a variety of reasons. They may set up a site for their hobby or a fan site, and from this they slowly start to create an income.
Other people find themselves made redundant or in a situation where they need to have more money. This drives them to seek other sources of income and working online is a very attractive option as it is something that can be done part time.
Every single person has a different reason for making their move into the online world. Every person you ask will give you a different answer, but all of them are financially related. Think about it, if you had an income of a million dollars a year then what would your life style be like? How much would you like to leave behind the humdrum nine to five and commute to work? How much would you enjoy having more time with your family and more time to do what you want to do?
You can see there
are some extremely compelling reasons to make a living online. However, there are plenty of pitfalls as well. Many who try to online fail and some lose everything. There are plenty of people out there who want to sell you snake oil and fleece you of your hard earned money. It also requires discipline, focus and work. Making your living online also requires for you to take responsibility for yourself and your life, which isn’t for everyone.
